2 years ago we moved into this old Victorian farmhouse. As you can see from these pics it was completely trashed (literally, trash was everywhere) when we bought it. So we've been working on it one part and one room at a time. We are pretty much done with the downstairs except for the Huge project of the kitchen which is going to happen this summer (yippee!!!). Anyway, so we are working on the upstairs right now, one room at a time. Yesterday we officially finished the master bedroom!! We did everything ourselves except lay the carpet. This is what it looked like before we moved in! Lots and lots of junk! So, someone who lived in this house once upon a time took a wall out so this room was an open room upstairs. We needed the bedroom back so we put the wall back. That's part of the reason why the pics look like totally different rooms. The next two pics are of the same part of the room.
New carpet!
And here's the opposite side of the room before we move in.
And here it is after remodeling. Pete did an awesome job building this closet!
We had a love-hate relationship with this window for a long time! It's hard to tell in this pic, but the trim around this window is not done and the wood that is there is 3 different colors. And whoever installed this window didn't do it symmetrically! Talk about your nightmare trim job! That's probably why it was never finished. But by not finishing they left nice holes for lots of ladybugs and spiders to come in and keep warm in the winter! Pete did a great job trimming it and then he caulked and then I caulked more! So there better not be anymore ladybugs crawling on my pillow when I go to bed!
So that's 1 more room down, 6 more to go! Next is the girls room! Then the upstairs bathroom!
